"Thank You for producing a very good product which I am proud to be a small part of"
Tony E. Martin - KS, Wellington
I finished the installation of my 20 kW Generac generator on March 27th 2009 at about 1pm. Eight hours later an ice storm hit south central kansas and we lost power for sixty hours. I stopped the generator at eight hours, changed the oil and oil filter and started the unit which ran non stop till utility power returned. I live in a rural area and several of my neighbors called me to find out why I had electricity and they were still in the dark. This gave me a wonderful chance to tell them about Generac generators and that I was a new dealer for Generac. Another option that has helped me with sales has been the remote monitor system that I use with my unit. I installed a 200 amp whole house transfer switch that was installed in line with the 200 amp under ground service that feeds my house. When we have a lightning storm entering the area I transfer the electrical load to my generator. I simply go to the test system on the remote monitor, start and transfer load, and wait till the storm passes. As a Master Electrican with 36 years experience in the field I have so often seen what lightning can do to a home or commerical building. The transfer switch opens an air gap on the utility side which is a very good way to help avoid lightning damage to my electrical system. Thank You for producing a very good product which I am proud to be a small part of. Sincerely, Tony E. Martin, Owner, Tony's Electrical & Generator Services Co.
