After Hurricane Ike left us without power for 10 days, we investigated the various generator options. We ultimately decided to install a natural gas powered Generac 22KW QuietSource in May. We did not expect to see the unit operate, if at all, until our next Hurricane. Last weekend we were hit with torrential rains and gusts up to 50 knots. Power was knocked out for three hours for every house and street light in multiple surrounding neighborhoods. Our house appeared as a virtual lighthouse, where we sat in air conditioned comfort watching a movie.
