We had our Generac Guardian 14KW installed last Fall. A few days ago it was put to the test when Hurricane Irene passed close by. Around midnight on August 12th, after hours of rain & wind, the power finally went out. Within seconds, I heard the Generac start up, and a few seconds later, we had power again. Our Generac Guardian ran for 18 hours straight, until the Utility Power was restored. The Generac, after sensing the Utility Power, switched us back over and shut itself down. It ran flawlessly, and did exactly what it was supposed to do. We are glad we made the investment, and the peace of mind it now provides was worth every penny.
