Waukesha, Wis. – October 15, 2009 – Generac® Power Systems, a leading manufacturer of standby and portable power generators, was named the 2009 Waukesha County Business of the Year Executive Award Winner by Waukesha County.
An independent panel of judges, which includes business executives, community leaders and past award winners selected Generac for this award.
“We are extremely honored to receive this award,” said Aaron Jagdfeld, chief executive officer, Generac. “What started with modest beginnings 50 years ago in a local Waukesha garage has grown to be one of the largest names in standby power generation as well as one of the largest employers in southeastern Wisconsin.”
“We received many outstanding nominees for the County Executive Awards this year,” said County Executive Dan Vrakas. “The number of exceptional business, government and nonprofit agencies available to residents in Waukesha County make all of us very proud.”
As a company that reinvents itself every three to five years with new technologies, products and manufacturing advancements, Generac is a true U.S. manufacturer – not just an assembler of products, which is a distinction among its competitors, adds Jagdfeld. Generac is comprised of 1,500 employees (and growing), based mostly in southeastern Wisconsin, that are hard-working and dedicated. Likewise, Generac cares for its employees and provides a quality employment opportunity that benefits their families. According to Jagdfeld, Generac is involved in the community and believes this is an important part of the company’s identity. To watch a short video about Generac’s role in the community, click here.
Generac was honored, along with other category winners, at the Fourteenth County Executive Awards Luncheon on Oct. 7, 2009.
In the world of standby power, Generac Power Systems continues to lead the way with an array of standby generators that provide power generation solutions for any scenario – residential, commercial and industrial. Generac generators operate on diesel, natural gas or liquid propane vapor (LPV). The company also manufactures its own line of four-cycle, air-cooled OHVI® (Overhead Valve Industrial) engines designed to run on gaseous fuel. As Generac’s sole focus is engineering and manufacturing quality generators, the company is at the forefront in offering superior solutions for demanding power applications.
