GREAT GENERATOR--EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS!
Assembly took less than 30-minutes and it started effortlessly right out of the box. A ???field test??? of the new generator was conducted two days later. After a two hour test run, with all the transfer panel breakers turned on, and nearly every component of a ???normal load??? placed on the generator--from the well pump to the dishwasher, and from the furnace to the refrigerator & water heater--the GP7500E generator handled the load effortlessly.
However, I've recently discovered one issue that remains distressing. In the owner's manual, Generac DOES NOT recommend running the generator in rain or snow. This is equivalent to a "Catch 22" in back-up, emergency power! After all, inclement weather--blizzards, hurricanes, tornados, ice storms, etc--are the causes of power outages in the first place creating the need for back-up generators! So the food in your refrigerator must spoil because it's raining outside? Really?

Does the job
Have had the generator for a few weeks but held off running it until I had a manual transfer switch installed. That happened this week and so the time came to test the switch and the generator.
As this was a first run the carb and tank were dry. In went the quart of oil, about a gallon of gas, I pressed the (electric) start button and it fired up without a hitch.
I then flipped the well pump, furnace, fridge, a couple of lights and a chest freezer over and no-one in the house even noticed, and the generator wasn't even close to capacity.
I hope I never need to use the unit in anger, but I'm happy that if we loose power, we will at least have the basics.

Performance is good
I have the 7000E and from what I can see other than the covered outlets and uni handle bar, it is the same model? The only issue I have so far with the generator is that the on/off fuel valve tab broke on me when I was turning it on. Now I use a tiny vice grip to turn the valve. Hard to find what part number I need for the generator b/c I can't find a parts list but all and all a solid generator.

Great, easy to use unit! Powers plenty!!!
Like so many others, going 7 1/2 days without power during the freak October Nor'easter SUCKED! I bought the GP7500E for back up power. Great unit! Easy assemble out of the box....was up and running in 15-20 minutes. We will never be without power. What a relief knowing we won't have to go throught that again! I recently had a friend who's an electrican install a 10 circuit transfer switch. This unit has plenty of juice to power everything we hooked up and then some. Hopefully we won't have to use it too often but, if it goes dark again.....we're ready! Thanks Generac

This is the one!
I bought this unit because I am building a house in the country. Com Ed won't have power there for another month. It took all of 10 minutes to put this together. total 15 minutes from box to running. Loaded it on the 1st start, Wow, this will run everything I need it to. Then after the house is built, it will serve as a back up in power outages. Illinois doesn't have the best of winters out here in the country. I recomend this to any one serious about a quality generator!

Great unit for the money and easy to use
I recently purchased this generator after using one(GP5000) that was given to me on loan by my employer, during the freak winter noreaster in October. It ran almost my whole house(1200 sqft). After the storm I went to my local Generac Dealer and purchased the GP7500E. It is easy to set up and my family can also set it up if I am not home. I would recommend having an electrician install a transfer switch and proper grounding for the unit. Great machine I use it also whenn I'm at the race track to power my trailer.

Great features for the price
Bought this for home use after Hurricane Irene. Had electrician install a service panel interlock to use in outage. Have tested it monthly. Starts right up and runs great. Have not had an official test since we have had no further interruptions..

A lot of generator for the money.
I have not used the generator for an extended length of time yet but the two times I ran it for testing purposes it started & ran great. It's a tad louder than I would like, but it's a fairly large unit so I guess thats to be expected.
