Love the use of Propane fuel
Easy to set up and use, and no worries about gas going bad.
Their are only two things I think it needs.
1. Larger sizes in the propane fuel series.
2. I wish it had an hour meter and a gauge for its load output.

Great value for size
Before making this purchase, I borrowed this generator from a friend so I could test it out during the aftermath of Sandy. When I first got it, I thought that it would be too small for my needs, however it's just the right size to run focussed necessary needs in a residence. In my case I had a manual switch professionally installed that ran my water pump, and oil furnace, a refrigerator, a freezer and my phone/TV/Internet.
The generator was more than adequate for these needs and allowed us to shower and not lose our food and have TV & Net for the kids. Who needs more than that?
All the local gas stations were out of gasoline, but there were propane tanks available everywhere. I only needed it for two days and it didn't go through a single 20 pound tank in that time.
My unit was packed well and easy to assemble. There was a nut missing in the plastic housing that goes around the tank and I found a replacement locally. Once I added oil and fuel it started right up. Would have loved to have electric start to make it easier on my wife when I travel.

Full of promise
I received the unit today after it had been on back order for four months. It was well packed for shipping and didn't take me much more than an hour to set it up - including getting it out of the box. The wheels and propane tank holder had to be fitted - nothing complicated as long as you have the right wrenches (metric). I added the supplied oil, hooked up the propane tank (outside of course) and followed the pull-starting instructions with no problem. It ran well and was reasonably quiet. You can run loads using extension cords from the 120 V outlet panel on the generator but, since that's kind of untidy, I'm going to install a transfer switch to my main panel and an outdoor connection point to make the hook-up more convenient during an outage. Meanwhile the generator is easy to move around and, given its propane tank, I can store it without worrying about the gas. If it is stored for a long period I do expect to check the oil but have high hopes that it will start as easily as it did "out of the box". The main con is that, although the manual clearly states in bold text that a 3-pole transfer switch must be used if the generator is connected to a building electrical system (the neutral has to be switched), there is no hint of what switches (now manufactured by Generac) would be suitable. I guess this is where a qualified electrical contractor comes into the picture.

Trouble with Starter Cords
Be careful of how new the model is..THe one I bought has the pull cord going thru a loop and this is causing the cord to FRAY.I have installed my second cord and this too is going bad. Hope the company is decent enough to recognize a design defect ( some new ones dont have this) and come up with a FREE modification...Also next one I buy will have ELECTRIC start...big drawback in very cold weather.

Quick set up, LP is easy to handle and very quiet running.
Unique use of LP is really preferable to gasoline: safe to handle, easy to store, and available everywhere through exchange programs. The engine also runs very quietly for its size. Only wish there was an even bigger wattage version, although certainly adequate for basic household services.

Need a Better Quick Set-Up Guide
So...its a great product...lets look at what is wrong...nothing big....here is it.

The Bolts that hold the Orange plastic guide diagram is wrong. The Bolts are fastened the opposite way. They go through the Orange Metal bar, then self tap into the Orange Plastic guide (which holds the LP tank in place). In addition, the Orange Plastic is not 100% designed to correctlly fit into the bolt, you have to 'trim' a small section of the orange plastic at the bottom.
Hey!...thats all that is not right with this unit! It is great, low noise...easy to start..and more importantly, when you need it, it works!
All right....now get off your tush...and get one!
