Fantastic Product
The Generac 7000E I purchased adds a whole new level of peace of mind for me. Through tropical storm Irene and the Halloween snowstorm here in the Northeast, I remained much more relaxed than during previous storms knowing if I lost power all I had to do would be to fire up the genny and all would be well again. The 7000e is reliable and starts right up each month when I exercise the system. I have the generator tied into my house service with a manual transfer switch so all the critical and needed circuits are a switch away from power restoration. Great generator - easy to use - starts reliably - very quick assembly. It even came with replacement spark plug and filters.

Great for Unexpected Power Outages
We bought this unit to replace a 15 year old 4400 watt generator made by John Deere. What a breeze the electric start is and how nice it is that the unit comes with a battery charger! This generator also comes with everything you need for the first maintenacne cycle at 25 hours. It looks good, runs good and powers everything most homeowners will need if they do not run air conditioning.

It starts right up,runs smoothly ,has very good build quality, ease of oil change and similar maintenance. I would highly recommend this generac unit to a friend or anyone looking for the perfect unit in the size .

Generac XG7000E Portable Generator
I purchased this generator for partial backup in my home. I also wanted a portable generator for use in a temporary location. I estimated my wattage requirements and decided on the XG7000E. It meets all of my expectations. I especially like the IOHV engine because I know what is required for long engine life. The folding handles make it easy to move and store. All controls are on a panel and that makes it easy to use. It is easy to service and maintain; designed and thought out well. It handles changing electrical loads like a champ. I had a fairly large quantity of 10-3 SO cables on hand so I purchased the required plugs and connectors and I can now reach anywhere in my home and beyond. I would recommend this generator to anyone if it meets their wattage requirements. I have no negatives to report.

Generac XG 7000 Portable Generator
An excellent generator for the money, bought mine at Costco. The 7,000 watts is plenty to supply my 2,400 square foot home with well water. I bought a ten circuit 30 amp max manual transfer switch which I wired and connected to my main panel. The generator supplies sufficient power for my 3/4 Hp well pump (220V), large 25 ft^3 refrigerator, kitchen circuits, bathrooms, bedrooms, family room (lights & TV), oil fired hot water heater, a separate oil fired warm air furnace, pellet stove and some other low current draw items. Using common sense I do not have an electric cook top hooked up nor an electric clothes dryer. I would use my propane gas grill for cooking while without power.
The quality of this unit is very good, as en engineer I am particularly picky with machine quality. Generac uses quality components in their design and build (do not waste your money with the HF brand generators initially being lower in cost). The engine is not overly noisy, an excellent muffler and spark arrestor. The fuel tank holds 9 gallons of gasoline which would run for 12 hours at half load per their specifications. The unit is very portable with the collapsible wheel barrow type of handles. This also minimizes storage space when the generator is not in use. Lastly, the electric starter is a very nice feature.
In close I highly recommend this unit.
My recommendation would be to use a heavy duty chain and chain the generator to a permanent structure when left outdoors to discourage theft of the unit. Here in the Northeast thieves are pulling up with pickup trucks and stealing generators from peoples property (This has nothing to do with Generac, just an observation).

Amazing Packaging, Extremely Easy to Use
I purchased this generator for hurricane Irene, and absolutely impressed with the ease of set up, and the spare parts (extra oil filter, extra oil, paper oil funnel, extra air filter, extra spark plug, spark plug change tool)!!!! This really came prepared for everything just in case, and that was the point of buying this, for the just in case. I was amazed at how easy it was to set up and operate. I really enjoyed using the electric start option and would highly recommend. we were without power for 3.5 days and had no problem at all, in fact my neighboors enjoyed keeping their basements dry.
Thanks Again!
