The generator is great
This is our second XG7000 from Generac. Our first one ran fine - it only had 3.5 hours on it. We used it once during an outage and the other time was just "monthly runs" as recommended by the company. Somehow, a bolt came loose in the engine and ruined the engine. We worked through the local Generac warranty dealer and received this replacement. Our only disappointment was the time - almost 45 days - for Generac to decide to replace the unit. We have been and are satisfied with the product and recommend it to any one looking for an alternate electric supply.

It was a little hard to start initially but understandable since it takes awhile to get fuel to the carb. After that, it starts just fine. I would give it a perfect rating if not for the broken rubber feet. They seem a little fragile. Overall, a great machine. I feel more comfortable knowing we'll be ready in the event of a prolonged power loss.

XG7000 Great buy for the money !!
I received the Generator it was packed very well. The instructions provided made for very easy set up...took about 20 minutes. I rolled the generator about 50 yards through the yard to the shed....was easy to move...does not seem as heavy as stated. I added gas, pulled the choke, and it fired right up and is not very loud....seems to be the same sound level as my ATV at idle. Does not take up a whole lot of room in the shed. The construction is very solid and very sturdy and the frame construction is better that described...My father has a new red color(another brand) 6500 generator, paid a lot more for his, and my XG7000 is quieter, has more features (ie meters/gauges/lights) , more output power, and the over all construction is much more solid.

Only took 15 minutes to setup and there was some problems at first with the throttle linkage but I'm mechanically inclined. I had it fixed in a couple minutes and it purrs like a kitten now. I understand that generac is under extreme pressure pumping out these generators as fast as they can. I like the pressurized engine oil system with an automotive oil filter, such a great idea. I have no doubts that I will own this generator for a lifetime with regular maintenance. For an extra $250 over the xp7000 I believe the xg7000e is well worth the extra money

Built Rock Solid!
This generator is built to last. It is well designed and well thought out. It starts quick and easily and the push button starter is fabulous. I liked the extra spark plug, oil filter and breather element that was included. Very nice professional touch! Best of all, it provides more back up power that I will probably use. For me, that equals peace of mind.

Excellent Cold Starting
After sitting for a couple weeks I started it up yesterday morning -25c overnight it instantly started. After about a min or so I was able to open the choke all the way and it ran perfect. My only gripe so far is it is very noisy. With a 4800watt 240v heater on it for a load, it was putting out 120.4 volts and 61hz using a P4400 Kill A Watt meter in the 120v plug.

A quality product made in the U.S.A.
I did the research before purchase and found this model to be the best rated in the price range and power capacity. The previous reviews (from various sources) were "spot on" and I am in total agreement with a 5-star rating. This is a real high-end product with excellent build quality. Generac did not scrimp on the components. Easy set-up and start-up right out of the box. I like the fact that extra filters and oil are packed with the unit. The generator started with a minimum of priming effort and runs smoothly. The voltage was right at 120V and held to it even under load. Now all I need is another major storm to put it to the real test. Forgive me, I'm not wishing for a storm like Hurricane Sandy on anybody!
