Excellent product
I have owned this 25kw generac generator since 3/30/2006. We have lost power many times since installation, mainly due to hurricaines. My generator has worked great. we do our entire house. Our only problem has been rusting of the exterior shell and I am now looking for an aluminum enclosure.

HAD UNIT REPLACED
My new engine from 12/2/11 failed,1.6 Chery Generac replaced entire unit with 1.5 Mistsu engine on 10/23/12. Hope it works as well as it sounds. Company stood behind warranty after two tries to fix.

Had problem with this unit.
I purchased this unit new 3/1/11, and had to have the engine replaced at 21.9 hrs. after it blew two oil filters on 10/26/11.
I had to go through a lenghty new oil pump replacement , relief spring replacement process before a new engine was ordered, delvered and finally it was installed 12/2/11.
Generac started my warranty over, and the unit has self tested three times since this date. Working fine now.
I bought an extended warranty also just in case.

Now I don't worry when I leave town.
We live eight miles north of the nearest town and the high winds cause trees to fall on the power lines often. Since we have a well, when there is no power we have no water. Last year we had our whole house generator installed and now have 'peace of mind'.
The unit does the weekly self test, is quiet and never fails to kick in when the power goes out. I wish I would have been able to talk my wife into this many years ago.

Our Generac gives us security and peace of mind in all kinds of wild weather.
We've had our Generac for just about a year. It has served us well through a few small power failures, Hurricane Irene and the freak snowstorm on the East Coast on October 29, when our neighborhood was without power for eight long days. It tests itself once a week. It goes on automatically when the power fails and enables our family to live our normal lives--hot showers, hot meals, lights and television. I can even run the dishwasher and washing machine with no problem. I cannot recommend this product enough in these days of wild, extreme weather!

Product is self sufficient
Product runs on a weekly test schedule that is unobtrusive and lists any problems it may have found with the unit. Recently we had a hurricane and it automatically turned on while the power was out for 5 days. We had evacuated, but readouts tell us that it ran steadily for about 3 1/2 days continuously and provided power that kept all our refrigerators up and running. We are very pleased with the item!
