Exactly what I bought this unit for, it has performed.
The peace of mind is unexplainable. Every Friday morning it starts itself up, runs for it's 10 minutes, and shuts itself off. I live in Connecticut where we experienced the heavy snowfall in October of 2011. The generator turned itself on and ran for 6 days without incident, and that was 2 months after it ran for 12 hours after a hurricane. Am I satisfied? Yes!!!

Worry Free!
Excellent product,no more running extension cords or filling gas cans! Just wait a few seconds until my Generac 8kW starts all buy itself!

This product is a big disapointment
I bought this unit new and upon install it would not run. A tech was sent to work on it and after replacing several parts on 3 trips it started. But after about 10 hous use the altanator portion of the unit failed. That was replaced and the unit was up agian. It ran off and on for about 98 hours over the summer and fall and failed againg in November. Still less than a year old. Not dependable as advertised.

First year reliable function without problems
Installation was easy and the unit has performed as expected through 3 short term outages of 8-10 hours or less. Inexpensive peace of mind. I really like the natural gas fueling & the ability to check the automatic powering up of the unit on a weekly basis via the electronic log.

This product has been "Peace of Mind"
I cannot say enough about Every thing this Generator has done. I live one mile back in the woods and in very cold climate. Every time I have lost power Generac Gen. has kicked on and removed all my fears of frozen pipes bursting, basement flooding, not being able to shower or all the other amenities that come with not having power.!!! The only problem I had was a faulty starter when it was installed and Warrenty service was Immediately rectafied and has never let me down.!!! I do change oil every year and use Synthetic. This Generac Generator will run Forever if U DO the Maintenance. I am a Designer for GM and have no affiliation with Generac Generator Comp. I Recommend this unit for any home or place where U NEVER want to B without Power.!!!!! Cliff...

Quiet, efficient and seamless - all once could ask for!
Regular power outages prompted us to invest in this product and it has lived up to its expectations. It does provide piece of mind, knowing that it will indeed seamlessly kick in when the electricity supply is interrupted and likewise shut itself off when power is restored. It is a worthwhile investment for anyone to make who experiences power outages with some regularity.
Design is pleasant and the generator has been maintenance free as long as we have owned it (12 moths plus).

This product was very easy to install.
This product has been great we have lost power several times since I installed it and has worked great. I had some factory wiring issue inside the generator but were quickly repaired by a Generac certified electrician under the warranty.
