Our focus on STEM includes supporting FIRST Robotics teams in our Generac communities. High school students are challenged to build industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game in alliance with other teams, while also fundraising to meet their goals, designing a team “brand,” and advancing respect and appreciation for STEM within the local community.

The Generac Foundation helps address disaster preparedness and response through targeted grants to organizations that provide important infrastructure services when disaster strikes. Donations were awarded to SBP, Toolbank Disaster Services, ALAN and more to provide help when it is needed.

One of the ways Generac demonstrates its appreciation to veterans and military families is by being the presenting sponsor of the Wisconsin Veterans Day Parade

Milwaukee County War Memorial is hosting the “Until They Are Home” exhibit fueled by funding from the Generac Foundation. The exhibit focuses on Wisconsin service members who were POW/MIA to share their expreinces and so they are never forgotten.

Ignighting interest in STEM was part of the Discovery World’s summer STEM camps supported by the Generac Foundation. Youth participated in hands-on learning and challenges with robots and through coding. This was one of several STEM camps the Foundation contributed to.

Thanks to a donation from Generac, an outdoor education space and welcome center now exists for the Arboretum in Starin Park in Whitewater Wisconsin. Generac funded the shelter construction materials and employees built the structure together. The outdoor classroom will feature curriculum that connects youth to nature and teaches the fundamentals of stewardship and ecology.

We Share Solar is a hands-on educational program that links STEM skills with sustainability and global humanitarian service. A Generac grant enabled high school students to build two solar suitcases and learn more about clean energy. One of the solar suitcases was then sent to a school in an energy-scare region of the world to help another student have light for learning.

Using the Engineering Design Process and project management skills, students showcased their solutions to a citywide sustainability issue during the Future City competition. This hands-on program uses STEM skills and teamwork to solve problems. Generac sponsored the Future City competition in Aiken South Carolina.

FIRST Robotics is a dynamic afterschool STEM program in many high schools. Our support of FIRST Robotics included sponsoring the Wisconsin FIRST Robotics regional competition in Milwaukee. Teams of young people demonstrated their technical skills and teamwork to advance to the next level of competition.

Young people will explore renewable clean energy and learn about ways to increase energy conservation and access to reliable clean power in their communities in Earth Force's new program. Generac funding helped support the creation of this program that will engage youth.

Generac will help to power up education for students and teachers in the Milwaukee, WI area through a recent contribution to STEM Forward. The organization hosts programs and events to fuel STEM learning experiences and skill development to prepare youth for the future.

Operation Finally Home provides veterans with a place to call home through new construction and home improvement projects. A donation from Generac will help fund the building of a home for a US Army veteran and his family in Menomonee Falls, WI. Responders

Solar Decathlon challenges students to design and build high-performance, low-carbon buildings that mitigate climate change and improve our quality of life through greater affordability, resilience, and energy efficiency. Generac's contribution to NEED will support the overall competition process which enables the participants to gain useful knowledge about renewable energy.

Contributions to the USO South Carolina and South Carolina National Guard Foundation enables Generac to demonstrate its support for those that serve our country. Programs and services of these agencies are being funded.

Helping the community where our employees live and work is an integral part of our Generac Gives program. Recently, we made a donation to the Berlin Food Pantry to help nourish our neighbors.

Serving over 1,200 children a year, the Oshkosh Boys & Girls Club conducts weekly STEM lessons on topics ranging from biology to physics, and more. A recent donation from Generac will support STEM activities, among other educational programs, in helping to increase literacy and decrease learning loss in the summer.

The Generac grant to Vermont Energy Education Program (VEEP) will help bring "hands-on, minds-on" energy education programming to teachers and students. VEEP programs help strengthen student knowledge of science and energy concepts, deepen their commitment to sustainability, and catalyze action. Powering possibilities.

The American Red Cross’ Sound the Alarm program is dedicated to installing free smoke alarms to underserved neighborhoods and educating people about disaster prevention and preparedness. Generac funding supported this initiative in Wisconsin resulting in hundreds of smoke detector installations by volunteers to help keep families safe. Generating goodness.

Generac partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin to sponsor the They Served program, and repair homes of Veterans. This included a team of Generac volunteers constructing a new access ramp to tiny homes at the Veterans Village in Racine, Wisconsin, and the home of a military family in Waukesha.

People were able to experience the wonders of earth and space science during the Ruth Patrick Science Center at the University of South Carolina Aiken Family Earth and Sky Night sponsored by Generac. Young and old were able to see sky objects, gain an understanding about our night sky, and explore using telescopes.

Generac employees donate hundreds of volunteer hours to help others. A team of volunteers packed 504 stockboxes, or over 14,000 pounds of food for the Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee. These boxes of food are provided free to local senior citizens in need. #GeneracGives

Imagination in action. In Burlington Vermont, home of our DR Power team, we partnered with the ECHO Leahy Center to host Circuit Circus. More than one thousand kids, and adults, attended to learn about electrons and electricity in a fun way. We invest in youth STEM education by supporting events and activities that engage young students in hands-on STEM learning.

Generac was the sponsor of Beyond STEM MKE’s Mechanical Engineering & Simple Machines session intended to spark the interest of youth in STEM. The group explored push-pull forces, using fluids to do work and created a hydraulic arm.

Our Generac Gives employee donations program empowers our employees to make a positive impact to a non-profit they feel passionate about. Recently we supported the Bicycle Kitchen in California with a Gives grant. Our employee is a volunteer on their Board and teaches people how to clean, fix, maintain, and build bicycles. The Bicycle Kitchen's mission is to promote the bicycle as a fun, safe, and accessible form of transportation.

Students from 17 different colleges were able to combine concern for the environment with engineering while competing in the 2022 SAE Clean Snowmobile Challenge held in Eagle River Wisconsin. The design challenge was to optimize the machines for reduced emissions, noise, and fuel consumption. The teams progressed their projects through design paper submissions, virtual presentations, and ultimately the final 3-day onsite technical validation event.

Generac teams across the U.S. participated in the Generac Gives Season of Giving. Each location picked a local charity and employees donated items to help that organization. More than 1,400 items were collected ranging from toys to mittens that were shared with schools and non-profits. The Season of Giving campaign is another way we generate goodness and strive to be a good neighbor.

This group of high school students studying engineering design visited the engineering labs at Generac’s headquarters in Waukesha. The teens were able to see how engineers help develop products and talk with a few of our engineers about their career journey. Visits to our facilities are part of our Powering Up Education program.

Partnering with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night, Generac has been helping fund research to find a cure to blood cancers and provide support services. In 2021, hundreds of employees walked to increase awareness of LLS. In addition, our ten-year contribution from employees, vendors and the company has accumulated to more than $ 1.2 million to help power possibilities.

Our efforts to power possibilities reached South Carolina in 2021 - the location of our newest facility. We contributed to the Johnston Edgefield Trenton Middle School to support opportunities for student learning and experiences. Several employees worked directly with the school and were welcomed warmly to the community.

Through our sponsorship of GEMS (Girls’ Engineering Math and Science) at UW-Waukesha we strived to inspire the next generation of innovators and interest more girls in STEM. The middle school girls that participated in the program interacted with a wide variety of activities, like robotics, engineering, and meteorology, highlighting various careers and skills in these fields.

Generac’s efforts to positively impact the community included supporting men and women who have served our country. Our sponsorship of “She Served Week” with Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin in the summer of 2021 empowered Generac veterans and employees to help build and repair homes for other veterans. Volunteering and providing hands-on assistance is one way employees generate goodness.

Twenty years ago, Generac founded GPS Education Partners and we have been a leading partner in the program ever since. GPS Education Partners provides work-based learning for high schoolers. Generac provides a training center in Eagle, WI and has fueled numerous students’ graduation from high school including several who partner with Generac.

The interest in STEM can be sparked at any age and through all types of experiences. Generac connected with the University of South Carolina- Aiken to sponsor the 36th Annual SEED (Science Education Enrichment Day) STEM Festival which provided inspiration and exploration to youth. More than 2,500 people attended in 2021.
