Rated 5 out of 5 by GordonFreeman Outstanding generator!
Purchased back in Feb 2011 and have not had a reason to use it until today, smack in the middle of Hurricane Irene. Going in to the weekend, I made sure the batttery was charged up. It kicked-over with no problem, plugged it in, threw the xfer switches, and it got me through a 7-hour power outage, in the middle of pouring rain and 40+ mph winds, with all the comforts of home ..TV, fridge, internet, grinder pump, and most importantly, my instant coffee machine! Even under full load, it barely went above 2 bars on the power meter. Highly recommended!!

My home already had a generater ready plug in system and with the power outage Here in Spokane, Wa. I wanted agenerater that was easy to use and would be portable. The generac 8000 gave me both. The setup was easy and quick and I had power. It ran every thing hooked into the GEN panel And never reached 50% out put. That was 2 refrideraters, 1 freezer, all the lights and plugins in 3 bedrooms,2 baths, tv room, and garage. There was enough additonal wattage unused that I will be able to wire in my gas furnace.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brad79 Really Great Machine
I purchased this generator to replace another generator that was worn out and would no longer start. The new generator was easy to assemble (however there was one missing bolt), and it started right up with ease.
I have used this generator multiple times over several months and it has worked well.
The different electrical outlet options add to the convenience of this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dave Excellent product, Excellent Company
Purchased my XG8000 last year and it has only worked perfectly! Reasonably quiet considering the power output. Electric start, or pull it fires up immediately. After not having it started from March to November, it started on one pull as the battery was dead. I charged the battery and it's just great. As for the company, it's fantastic and I have no reason to say it other than it's so. The handle on my generator was faulty. It kept popping up and not holding the weight of the machine. Every 3ft I'd have to stop and re-engage the handle. After 1 minute on the phone with Customer Service a replacement part was sent out. I've sold equipment in the past and EVERYTHING MECHANICAL EVENTUALLY BREAKS DOWN. This was a small issue and it was handled PERFECTLY. That's the reason you spend your hard earned with a company. I absolutely love aligning myself with companies like this. It eliminates headaches, and that's the real currency when purchasing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jim Quality product at a reasonable price
Just received my XG8000E portable generator and accessories kit within the last month. Had no problem preparing it for the next power outage. Had a "whole house" manual transfer switch installed as opposed to the 6-10 circuit transfer swith. The advantage is that I can choose which circuit within the entire home to power. Tested it and it works great. I can power everything in the house except for the AC, which in my mind is unnecessary for a short duration.
It's nice to know "I won't be in the cold", can keep my food cold, and my basement dry (i.e. use of the sump pump) should a power outage occur.

Rated 5 out of 5 by John Great first generator
I've never needed a generator before and now that I do, choosing the Generac XG8000E was a great decision. I have a 2500 sq/ft home and this generator certainly takes care of us in an emergency! Great product!

Overall a great generator the battery problem don't know what actually causes that I was charging and starting it once a month but other than that it's been trouble free have it actually in my race car trailer and it's all set up to be plugged into my house in case there's an emergency
