Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I have 30 units throughout the United States on 22 kilowatt liquid cooled units. I have the email notifications go to a gmail account. I have filters for each employee depending on if there is an alarm, status change, fault, etc. The gmail account then sends emails out accordingly. I did this since there are only three slots on the Mobil link account. I can send as many as I like with the gmail filter and forwarding. Where there is decent coverage, we have no signal issues. There are some spotty areas, but those connect often enough to provide useful data. The latency for a fault is usually less than 5 minutes. I understand that the cellular systems will be phased out in the next two years. That stinks since we have had such good luck.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mobile link can’t be used on WIFI - come on! I just built a new home and included a Generac 16kw backup. I can’t belive there isn’t the option for mobile link to monitor over your home WIFI, as well as cellular. Seems like just a money grab for the monthly fee for cellular. Maybe the excuse is it works during a power interruption? That dog doesn’t hunt! I have a UPS to support my modem/router until the generator kicks in, and supplies power to my home network, so Mobile link would be connected to the Generac all the time. My cellular phone can connect with my home WIFI from anywhere, as I do with my home security. After spending thousands on a what I thought was the top of the line generator, I find they have a Mickey Mouse approach to monitoring. For this reason alone, I won’t recommend Generac.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Over priced and not beneficial At a subscription price of $12.99 a month using a proprietary cellular service, you get a device that tells you if your generator is running. What a ridiculous concept and a money-grab for someone. There is a litany of reviews talking about how bad this thing is and frequent mention of why WiFi connection would be better. But the blanket response from Generac staff is that cellular is better because of broad coverage and ease of setting up. They will try to have you believe that setting up a WiFi connection is too hard for YOU. Why not offer a WiFi connection for people who want it (which is most everyone) and the cellular connection for those who need it (practically nobody)? Listen to the consumer. I can tell you this, when the free period ends, I am turning the service off. $12.99/month to be told the generator is running in the rare event of a power outage is absolutely absurd.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Their system has degraded in recent months I have had this system for almost three years. Early on it worked very well, the real time notice was in fact in real time. In the past six months, the system has been a failure. My system tested on Friday March 9th at 1400 hours and I received the e-mail and test message at 2300 hrs. on Monday March 12. It was 81 hours after the fact. Not real time!!I have called numerous times but am told they are working on it. I don't know why they can not seem to get their system the way it was in the past. If they can't correct it, I would tell you to save your money.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Mobile Link does not provide timely notifications On several occasions during the last year, the notifications (text and email) sent by Mobile Link showing a change in status by the generator have not been received until 24 hours after the event. For a service that promotes real time status and notifications, 24 hour delays do not meet that claim.
