Nine months after I purchased my Generator the power in my neighborhood went out for a total of six hours. It took my generator 15 seconds to have my power back on in my whole house.

Ok folks, this won't cook your dinner, clean your house, or do your laundry but WILL give you the "peace of mind" with what's going on at your home. When the power goes out and your generator is working, this will notify you and give you time to react to any emergency and will both e-mail and text you if needed and that alone is worth it's weight in gold in my opinion. I've had a catastrophic power failure during the winter and now having both a generator and the Mobile Link, I know almost instantly what's going on in real-time; with no affordable and reliable internet available in my area, the "cellular" feature works with the reliability I need and again, gives me "peace of mind" to know I won't home home to a disaster, THANK YOU!!

Generac has developed fantastic generators for the money. Sadly the MobileLink hardware and associated monitoring aren't all that. For the 250+dollar price tag the limitations are great. First it's cellular only. No available connection to a wireless router / internet. Seems like a no brainier to me. But an obvious omission. First year is free. Then 99 bucks thereafter. Steep for no more features than it has.
The MobileLink app for iOS is neat and clean. But the push notifications never work. (Yes. The settings are correctly set to get them) I get the email notifications just fine and they are generally timely. But the app never notifies. I have to manually open the app and look if I want any information.
You can monitor a few things in the app, but not much and you have very little remote control of the generator. Almost none.
MobileLink is almost there. But it's as through the designers just stopped at a certain point and didn't make it what it could really be. The technology is there and this could nicely shine with some additional design and feature polish!

the app doesn't do much. you set up the text and email notifications online,not in the app. It was expecting to be able to monitor generator load.

Given the price for the MobileLink hardware, and the annual cellular fee, it is an expensive service. My MobileLink hardware failed after only 14 months.
Based on MY experience and dollars spent so far, I would NOT recommend the MobileLink device unless you have money to burn.

I bought the Mobil link for my 22kw standby generator online for $249.00. I felt was bit expensive, But what the heck, I just spent almost 10k on the generator and install so why not right? The Mobil link was very easy to install myself, the only issue I had was connecting the plug into the device after it was mounted to the unit, that took some time due to the small amount of space you have to work in. It does look cool on the side of the unit with its 3 blue lights letting me know all is good… Now for the Mobil link app review. This app is just okay and could be Much better. If it was to offer All of the control of the generator panel this app would be awesome! But unfortunately you only get the bare min info and control using the Mobil link app. With this Mobil link app you can; check if your battery is “good” or not. You also can change the test run schedule date but not the duration. The app will send texts messages when the unit starts and shuts down. My question(s) is, Why can’t you change the duration of the test run like you can on the panel? Also, why can’t you start and shut down the unit from the app? it would be great If the app gave you 100% control of the generator units panel, then and I could see continuing the service after the 1 free year is up. But since I have to go to the unit for 50% of everything I need to check and or change then it won’t be worth it to me to continue the service. Cool toy but missing some futures.

This is the 2nd Mobile Link installed on my 15 KW Generac StandBy Nat Gas unit in less then 15 months. It is nice when it works but keeps losing the cell connection. It has lost the connection 3 times in the past 5 or 6 weeks. A flimsy, unrealiable and expensive accessory.

We bought a mobile link to be installed at the same time as our 20kw generic generator. it has been over two months and we are on our third mobile link unit because they either fail to connect or they lose the connection to verizon. We do not have any other issues with verizon service in our area. Device sounds great but we have been less than impressed with product.
