We are pleased to introduce Del Maccio as the new Regional Development Manager (RDM) in the Caribbean for our dealer channel.
Del joins Generac with over 15 years’ experience in the power generation industry. Del’s track record of surpassing multimillion-dollar sales quotas in highly competitive markets will be an asset to our network. Most recently, Del was a Sales Engineer with Energy Systems West, a Generac Industrial Dealer in California. At Energy Systems West, Del accelerated territory revenues, expanded company outreach, and successfully developed new territories (Hawaii), among many other accomplishments. Previous to Energy Systems West, Del was with Generac Industrial Dealer, Genset Services, in Florida.
With Del’s dealer experience and thorough knowledge of the Generac product line, he looks forward to becoming a great resource to our dealer network in establishing and executing winning strategies.
4th Annual Mexico Internet of Things & Telecom Summit Highlights
Nearly two years after the approval of Mexico’s telecom reform, a new competitive landscape takes shape in technology and business model solutions. Generac sponsored this years’ edition of the BNamericas’ 4th Mexico Internet of Things & Telecom Summit held on 11 - 12 of November 2015. The summit focused on topics such as: Mexico’s progress in closing the digital divide, the opportunities arising in an increasingly industrialized and globally integrated economy, the needs for infrastructure (including the controversial deployment of the neutral network in the 700MHz band), and the competition between local operators.
The Telecom Summit also highlighted case studies from other countries and illustrated the context in which the telecommunications business is developing in other markets. Pictured here are Paulina Sariñana (left) and Richard Zinno (right) showing off Generac’s telecommunication energy solutions.
Central America Dealer Visits
Pictured to the right are Ivan Torres (Regional Sales Manager, Generac), Lesly Valladares (Supervisor of Sales Department, RTC de Honduras) and Raul Cueva (Lead Engineer/Technician, RTC de Honduras). On 19 - 20 of October, Ivan Torres - Regional Sales Manager, Generac, and Alysson Ernst –International Industrial ISR, Generac, were in San Pedro Sula, Honduras visiting Industrial Dealer, RTC de Honduras. The meeting provided training on GENconnect and GENservice as well as a discussion about current hurdles facing the area’s marketplace.
On the 22nd of October, Regional Sales Manager, Ivan Torres, and International Industrial ISR, Alysson Ernst also visited Industrial Dealer M&M Mantica in Managua, Nicaragua. The two met the staff of M&M Mantica, toured the warehouse facility, and added to discussions of marketplace challenges and opportunities. SG500 Has Arrived
The new 500kW node is Generac’s largest natural gas gen-set to date. Driven by a 25.8L liquid cooled-engine, the SG500 is rated for 809 hp at 1800 rpm with bore and stroke at 132 x 160 mm. It is available with a three-phase power output of 120/208, 120/240, 277/480 or 347/600 VAC, and offers Generac Power-Manager integrated controls for two-way communication with optional modem or Ethernet and GenLink software. Bahamas Hurricane Effort Donations Make Big News
In early October, Hurricane Joaquin gained devastating momentum when reaching the Bahamas’ Southeastern Islands with damaging winds and coastal flooding. Through Category 4 winds in excess of 135 mph, the islands of Long Island, Crooked Island, Acklins, and San Salvador drew extensive damage for over 36 hrs. All islands lost power and all any means of communication.
Marlin Marine and Bayshore Marina sent a total of 18 Generac generators and water pumps to the Southern Islands for hurricane relief efforts. Among the donations were three GP7500E's sent to power three portable reverse osmosis water making systems, so that island residents would continue to have drinking water. In addition, a donation of an air cooled unit was also contributed to Long Island for restoring normal operations to the local high school.
These efforts sparked a local community outpouring of thanks through social media, news, and interpersonal conversations. It was even reported that a senior employee from a major competitor in the area sung praises for the efforts. An overall win for the people of the Bahamas, Marlin Marine, Bayshore Marina, and the Generac brand!
