Generac's Product Portfolio Expands To 2 MW

With the recent closing of the purchase agreement with Baldor Electric Company, Generac Industrial Power now offers a broad line of mobile, standby, prime power and peak-shaving generators from 10 kW– 2 MW, available in a variety of fuels such as LP, natural gas, diesel or Bi-Fuel for every power requirement. For greater application flexibility, Generac’s award winning Modular Paralleling Systems (MPS) will continue to provide power outputs of up to 9 MW while also offering more traditional paralleling options as well.

“This acquisition is a great strategic fit for Generac’s business, providing us immediate access to not only a larger industrial product line to better support the North American and global power generation markets, but our new Oshkosh (Wis.) facility adds significant production and test capacity for future growth,” said Aaron Jagdfeld, president and CEO, Generac.

While our Oshkosh facility brings with it a broad product line, we will address any overlap with Generac’s current gensets through a thorough product rationalization based on the needs and demands of the market. However, with the larger power nodes, we can now serve markets – such as healthcare, data centers, WWTC’s and oil and gas – that we didn’t participate in previously because we didn’t have that capacity.

Our industrial dealer network is excited to be able to offer this extended product line, and is ready to provide engineering, order and service support. The Baldor brand name was not a part of the terms of the agreement, although Generac will continue to support Baldor Generator’s existing customers and distribution network. Once we pass a short transitional period, all Baldor branded products will be part of the Generac Industrial Power brand family.
