Generac’s First Annual Latin America Dealer Conference

6/23/2014

Generac Power Systems recently hosted its first Latin America Dealer Conference in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Over 120 dealers and their representatives from 17 Latin American and Caribbean countries participated in the three-day event. Conference attendees were greeted by members of Generac’s executive management team, as well as representatives from Generac’s corporate office located in Waukesha, WI, our Ottomotores facility, located in Mexico City, Mexico, and our Magnum Power Products facility, located in Berlin, WI.

“This conference will become one more touch point Generac has with its Latin American dealer network as we work together to build upon our global footprint in the standby, emergency and prime power markets,” said Frank Moreno, Director, Latin American Sales for Commercial and Industrial Markets.

Conference attendees heard from keynote speaker Terry Dolan, Executive Vice President, Global Industrial Products; toured the Ottomotores facility in Mexico City; viewed presentations by major Latin American suppliers including Emerson, MTU, and Perkins; and networked with fellow dealers representing different markets. They also formed a Dealer Advisory Council which represents dealers from Ottomotores and the Generac Power Systems network and duplicates the domestic dealer advisory council. The Latin America Dealer Advisory Council will provide a “dealer voice” to Generac so that we are clearly aligned to provide the most innovative products with support from a fully knowledgeable, well-trained network throughout the sales process.

Generac has been offering all of its product lines to the Latin American markets, where suitable, for many years. In the past, dealers traveled to the U.S. for this event, but with the acquisition of Ottomotores in December 2012, the Latin America dealer network has grown significantly, making it difficult to host such a large group. “Because we are committed to these markets and learning more about the different cultures, holding a ‘local’ dealer event provides an even better experience for both the dealers and the entire Generac team,” said Moreno.

“This venue provided our dealers with valuable knowledge, the opportunity to network and to share their insights with senior Generac and Ottomotores leadership,” added Moreno.
