Rated 3 out of 5 by from Super impressed at first but then... I bought this generator to run my cab-over camper on various trips throughout the year. I had a 2K watt previously and it just wasn't enough to handle the microwave and other accessories, so I upgraded to the Generac 3K watt and at first was impressed at how quiet it was and how it seemed to handle all my accessories fairly easy ripening through the 30amp RV outlet, but then...on a recent trip I decided to camp in a tent shelter and use the generator to run a 1500 watt space heater to keep warm at night, but unfortunately it was not able to run the heater without going into fault mode. So I went to town and bought a second heater and had the same issue. I tried powering it through the 30 amp outlet with an adapter and had the same problem. Unfortunately I have no idea how a 3K watt generator can't handle a 1500 watt space heater, but this generac cannot unfortunately. Pretty disappointing to say the least. I run non-ethinol fuel and make sure the oil level is good, so I'm just not sure if the governor is set too low so it can't reach a true 3000 watts or what the issue is? Back to the drawing board I guess. Would I recommend this generator now? Probably not. At first, absolutely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple to start. Easy to start and run. Real quite to run. Can hardly hear it running when compared to my older generator that this replaced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Unit Tested By Hurricane Ida I bought two of these units for construction work but did not use them until Hurricane Ida. I used one and it's quiet and worked flawlessly. I used it for about a week nonstop. The power lasted about 8 hrs per tank full. I powered a house refrigerator, washing machine, several fans and computers. I did buy the inverter generator parallel kit to tie the two units together to supply 6000 but did not need it yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Got it done I bought the 3000. Lived off it for a few days after hurricane Sally. It powered the full sized refrigerator, an electric cooktop, television, surround sound, phone/laptop chargers throughout the entire power outage. Its easy to carry and surprisingly quiet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Problems starting We like how quiet the generator is. We have problems starting the generator if it has not been started in a couple of months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful and quiet I bought the GP3000i for my camper and I am impressed that I could run everything even the 8000 watt a/c without any problem. It’s fairly lightweight and fits right under the camper to keep it out of the direct sun or rain very happy with this product, oh and easy starting also!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Got gp3000i for my rv less than a month old. Run Ac ok, but the micro wave was also turn on at the same time overload. Overload led came on and voltage drop out which is to be expected. Went to shut it off and restart to reset to recover, it would not shut off. Had to unplugged the spark plug to shut it off? Started again voltage was correct ran AC fine, but could not shut it off. Looks like the Ignition module went bad? Called one of the company that was recommended for warranty they would not do genrac warranty repairs? Took it to another repair out fix to get it repaired they copy my 3yr extended warranty information which I had purchased as well. Not a good feeling about the warranty issue. Product may have issue with the ignition / control module? Will find out. Other than not being able to reset the unit after overload, whether automatic recovering or restarting unit, it still work fine. They need to look at redesigning the ignition/control module to be more robust. Waiting see see what the results will be? It’s a good product if they fix this issue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from *Almost* Perfect We have a trailer RV, and a 13,500 BTU A/C, so needed the 3,000+ startup power. I've been researching generators off & on for ~6 months and finally pulled the trigger on the Generac GP3000I for the following reasons: - Low weight (60 lbs w/o gas) - Low decibels - High power (able to handle our A/C) - Made in Wisco (where I live) I would give it 5 stars, but unfortunately there isn't a perfect generator out there at this level. Ideally the GP3000I would have the following features: - Fuel shutoff switch (so you can run the carb dry, not sure why this isn't a standard feature!) - Wheels (yes, 60 lbs is a lot lighter than comparable brands with this power output (aka Predator etc @ 100 lbs), but some casters would be nice. Lastly, the instructions could be a little more clear about the oil (they ship you 0.6L that fills capacity so you can put it all in, but that isn't readily clear). Otherwise, very happy with how quiet the unit is, low weight, sharp appearance, and it started up on the 2nd pull.
