Perfect addition to a tailgate
With the return of college football, the GB1000 Portable Power Station was the perfect addition to our tailgate! It provided ample power for our devices and entertainment needs throughout the game. When the weather took a turn for the worse, it performed just as well indoors and quietly ran in the background.

Useful as a means to ferry power.
As a Generac employee, I was invited to test the product in exchange for my honest feedback.
I used the GB1000 while camping with a tent trailer where there was no power on the sites. We camped there for 8 days.
I was able to run my 12V electric for 18 hours on a full charge of the battery.
The real win was that it was overcast the entire time, so our solar was completely useless. I was able to charge the GB1000 at the convenience station over 2.5h and then simply plug the entire trailer into the battery. That recharged our trailer battery and kept things running for 3 or so days.
It was helpful to have constant feedback as to the draw on the battery and the estimated time remaining.
Of note, I had the 100W solar as well, but realistically, you'd need 12 hours of direct sunlight to charge this battery. Ideally you would have 300-400W of solar for something this size to be actually useful. Same goes for the 12v charger for use in a vehicle while driving. The battery reported 10-12 hours to reach full charge.

Doesn't charge
Received GB1000 as a promotional product for purchasing 24kw full house generator. The GB1000 doesn't take a charge still doesn't take a charge 24 hours after opening the box. It makes me wonder if I made a major mistake to buy the full house generator now. Service people only offering a power cord as a replacement. That's very sorry Generac.

Great for medical device backup
This is a great power supply. I run my CPAP at camp for 4 nights before recharging. It's a bit loud when charging but quiet when in use. A little pricey but certainly worth the money for what I use it for.

Great
As a Generac employee, I was invited to test the product in exchange for my honest feedback.
Myself and my close friends and my family were really impressed with the GB1000. The unboxing experience was straightforward, and we found the documentation was helpful. The first night it was in my possession, my friends and I put it through its paces, plugging in a portable heater and a car vacuum and charging a power tool battery pack as well as our phones. The GB1000 was more than capable of handling all the load we could throw at it, and calmly and quietly went about its business dispensing a steady stream of power to all devices. We liked the large colour screen as much for its clarity as for the vital information it displays, including input and output wattage and battery life but also the estimated total battery life in hours. This last read-out is dynamic, and changes based on how much power the GB1000 outputting; valuable information that lets you know how much time is left before you need to recharge. The wireless charging pad is a handy—and pretty exclusive—feature and the two USB-C charging ports are another premium that I used to rapidly charge my family's iPhones and iPads during a one-week cottage rental. On the same trip I also used the GB1000 to power a large portable fan—on the beach!—during a heatwave. When I got home, I cleaned the sand out of the car with my vacuum plugged into the portable power station for over an hour. One piece of feedback I have for making the device a little better would be to add some visual indication of which outlets and ports are controlled by the AC and DC buttons. This could take the form of a line marking which buttons control which ports. Since the wireless charging pad kind of sits on its own, i.e., is not on the front display area, you could add some text signifying that it is powered by the DC button. This might help users like me, who may not intuitively understand that the wireless pad is charged by DC current. Bottomline, the Generac GB1000 has a lot of nice premium touches, is easy to operate, rugged, has a large storage capacity, and can handle power-hungry devices with ease. So, if you are in the market for a portable battery station with a lot of storage capacity to power all of your favourite devices off the grid and during power outages, you should give this model a serious look.

Works great as a power source for an electric trolling motor.
As a Generac employee, I was invited to test the product in exchange for my honest feedback.
The GB 1000 exceeded expectations and performed admirably over the course of a weekend at a remote cottage. It provided more power than we needed, so it was refreshing to not have to think about rationing usage of devices. Most notably, we used the battery as a power source for a 65 pound thrust electric trolling motor attached to a floating dock and cruised around the lake for almost two hours. This only consumed about 10% of the battery's capacity, so we probably could have used it for this purpose for the entire day.

Convenient product
We took theGB1000 with us camping over 4th of July weekend to use at our family reunion cook out. The GB1000 kept our hot food at safe temperatures for well over 4 hours. This was a pleasure because in the past we always overloaded the campsites electrical capacity and ended up juggling which foods were was able to be kept warm at one time., and never had to worry about blowing fuses as we have in the past years.
