Innovation Built With Pride

Innovation Engineered. Quality Manufactured.
For 60 years, Generac has driven innovation in the industry by creating unique solutions that we are proud to introduce to the market. Founded in 1959, Generac Industrial Power manufactures the widest range of backup power products to facilitate the unique gen-set power needs of today’s industrial-sized applications. With fully automatic transfer switches, accessories, and generators designed for commercial and industrial-sized applications with multi-megawatt capacities, Generac Industrial Power also offers state-of-the-art tools and educational programs for a variety of industry professionals. By producing some of the most flexible and innovative products on the market while providing hands-on training to today’s engineering minds, Generac Industrial Power works every day to ensure big businesses and industries around the world are able to remain adequately powered at all times. Our opportunity and growth can be found in technology and performance, but most importantly, opportunity can be found in our employees.
“I really love working with the people and the drive and the energy that the team has,” said Erik Wilde, executive vice president industrial, Americas, Generac Power Systems, Inc. “We really have a great team spirit and the whole enterprise works together to move forward and move the business forward.”
The difference between Generac and other manufacturers in the industry is the hard working employees who build the generators from the block up. “We are taking raw materials and creating many different facets that make up the generator,” said Matt Nielsen, a fabricator at Generac Industrial Power. “We are taking nothing and making it something. It is a cool thing to know we are making something that is reliable and gets the job done.”
We provide products to protect people in their darkest hour. Many times employees work extended hours to provide peace of mind to Generac customers. Generac employs some of the hardest working people that are willing to do anything to make the company successful. “I’m incredibly proud and humble to be a part of a team that is so passionate about the work that they do,” said Ann Givens, senior industrial manager, Generac Industrial Power. “The entire team will do anything they can to make sure that the customer is taken care of and happy.”
As one of the largest generator manufacturers, Generac is a leader in the power industry. We are designing, engineering and manufacturing parts of this industry that didn’t exist before. None of that would be possible if it weren’t for the people putting in the hard work. Our employees are the first line of accountability. If we wouldn’t use it, we wouldn’t expect someone else to. “We take a lot of pride in our work,” said Michele Brian, assembler at Generac Industrial Power. “If I am not going to use it, I'm not going to send it out the door, plain and simple.”
Generac is not one to be complacent now reaching markets across the globe. “One of the best things that you can do is share your best practices, share your ideas,” said Stefano Row, operations, Generac Industrial Power. “By learning from each other we can understand each market across the globe, which helps us understand solutions that may fit abroad and give value to our customers everywhere.”
No matter where the product is going, before any of our industrial generator designs go into production, we evaluate, analyze, and test every component down to the tiniest detail. This includes a full spectrum sound test, endurance testing and a comprehensive set of highly specialized tests on cooling system performance, a torsional analysis, transient response and maximum motor starting and structural soundness. This stringent testing process and design verification ensures each engine not only meets every major industry standard, including UL2200, CSA, NFPA 110 and NEC, but also meets the most demanding standards of all, our customers.
“The work is done with attention to detail and quality so the customer is happy with the product we came up with,” said Andrew Rieder, industrial engineering technician, Generac Industrial Power. “I'm part of a team that's trying to make things better for the people in our community and internationally. Electricity is a big need in the world today and it is very noticeable when it is not there, so we are trying to make sure everybody's lives continue as normal.”
Generac not only has a responsibility to the customer, but we have a responsibility to the community. “All you have to do is look at our storm response,” said Dan Barich, vice president of global operations, Generac Industrial Power. “We step up and help out, not just our customers, but local communities impacted by storms as well. Our ability to react quickly and get our whole company to rally around supporting our storm response team, supporting our team in the field, supporting our distributors, supporting our dealers and customers; it is something to truly be proud of.” Generac strives to make a positive impact on the communities where we live and work. Along with storm response, we support a number of charitable organizations that provide relief, encourage volunteerism, and promote education. It’s our way of helping bring peace of mind to every life we touch.
At Generac, we protect the things that power your life by providing quality, affordable power solutions. Since 1959, we have led the power generation industry. “At Generac, we're a small company that's growing globally,” said Wilde. “There is a lot of opportunity for people that are willing to work hard and invest in themselves to grow in their career. As the company continues to expand and grow, that opens up more opportunities. So if you're willing to take a chance on Generac, we're willing to take that chance and invest in you.”
