Generac PWRcell

FAQ's

  • What is PVRSS Lockout? (State Code 7310 or PVRSS Lockout Error)

PVRSS Lockout (State Code 7310) is an important safety feature. PVRSS Lockout indicates that there may be an issue with the rapid shutdown equipment (SnapRS) in the PV array. If PVRSS Lockout error state is present, contact an authorized service provider to perform a visual inspection of all SnapRS devices, the PV array, and conductors. System owners should not attempt to repair or inspect any Generac equipment on their own. Do not reset the error without first having the array inspected and any issues corrected.

Generac will provide replacement SnapRS to the authorized service provider prior to the scheduled service to reduce the potential for multiple service visits.

You should not attempt to bypass the PVRSS Lockout error by (1) changing the SnapRS installed count, (2) enabling “Override PVRSS,” or (3) using “Enable w/ PVRSS” to force operation of the PV Link. Contact your certified installer for additional support.

  • I have a PVRSS Lockout Error. How do I get the service work performed to resolve the issue?

If one or more of your PV links are in a PVRSS Lockout error state a Generac service provider will need to be contacted to assist in resolution. If your original service provider is unable or unwilling to service your equipment, please view the list of service providers to locate a suitable dealer.

  • What do I do when my original service provider is no longer providing service, or I am interested in finding another service provider?

If your original service provider is unable or unwilling to service your equipment, please view the list of service providers to locate a suitable dealer.

  • I have an issue with my PWRcell system, how do I get that resolved?

If you are experiencing issues with any Generac components in your system, contact your existing service provider. If you need help finding a new service provider, please view the list of service providers to locate a suitable dealer.

  • What is covered by my Generac Warranty?

Generac fully supports our products and stands by its product warranty, which covers the repair or replacement of Generac's equipment as described in Generac's limited warranty, a copy of which can be located on Generac's website at https://www.generac.com/service-support/product-support-lookup. Generac's warranty only covers those components that are manufactured or supplied by Generac, so does not cover items like PV-Panels or racking, or other non-Generac equipment or services that a service provider may have sold to you. Generac is aware that some service providers separately offered its customers a contractor workmanship warranty and may have made other promises or representations regarding system performance, which are beyond the scope of Generac's manufacturer's warranty.

  • What parts of my system are manufactured or supplied by Generac?

Generac manufactures the PWRcell Inverter, PWRcell Battery Cabinet, DCB/EX battery modules, PV Links, SnapRS, PWRcell automatic transfer switch, and PWRmanager. Solar panels, solar racking, junction boxes, AC breakers and sub-panels are not Generac products and are not covered by Generac’s warranty.

  • What should I do if my original installer has gone out of business and my installation is incomplete or my inspection not approved?

Any installation agreements are between the customer and the installation provider. A new service provider would need to be located in order to complete the installation or inspection process. Please view the list of service providers to locate a suitable dealer who may be willing to help complete an installation or fix issues that are preventing an inspection from being approved.
