Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small details.... Would be great if you would let people know how much oil to add when new & what is the spark plug type/number so we could buy some extras. Simple things you could print somewhere.....

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed I bought my unit just over a year ago and haven't had a need for its use until a week ago. It seemed easy to start, move around, and looked good. I lost power for approximately 36 hours and used the 120v outlets to keep my refrigerator and a small freezer operating. The freezer had no issues. The fridge however, kept tripping the gfi breaker and nothing I could do kept it running. I've seen articles concerning gfci and bonded neutrals but couldn't locate any info on Generac website. I contacted a Generac technician and asked about issues and was told my fridge is at fault and she directed me to a website to talk to an electrician for only $5 for 7 days and then $37/month thereafter. I did explain to the tech that I owned a Generac 5k watt generator for 20 years that took care of the fridge and freezer in the past - I decided to retire that unit and pick up the new GP6500. So, my question is-what do I need to do to the generator to run the fridge? It is currently plugged into a 15 amp outlet and works great. . .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good product The product was easy to set up and get started, although very heavy for one person to work with. Once the wheels and handle were attached, it was easy to handle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from WARNING! PINCH POINT at handle we recently bought 8 of these generators, they seam to be well built and do what they need to do. BUT, BEWARE of the Handle!! when handling the generator, the handle swung up and pinched the tips of 2 fingers off. After that we saw that the handle could be pinned in the up or down position.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from YES & NO on Recommendation I would recommend this Generac GP6500 COSense Generator for his built and quality. It feels a lot heavy than the stated specs, but overall built and quality of the product makes it worth the expense. It also runs for around 12-14 hours on a full tank. No I would not recommend this Generac GP6500 COSense Generator, because of several reasons. (This coming from someone who uses it for full-time RV and boondocking travel), - First: it's heavy. It's heavy to move and it heavy to carry. I'm a single parent at the moment so I don't have someone else willing to help me move it up and down from my truck. Why couldn't you just run it from the truck? You can, but the COSense sensor shuts it off most of the time to protect you from the invisible gas. - Secondly: it's loud. It's not something you operate daily, especially if you live in RV parks here and there like us. I have to set it away far away to cut out the decibles it produces. It's a bitter sweet review if you ask me. I wish I had something that was a lot quieter and lighter to handle with the same power and build quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth it Won’t stay running . CO sensor trips after about 15 seconds of running in the middle of the back yard .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Starts right up! Just purchased this fall for the New England winters. We haven't had to use it YET, but kind of looking forward to it. Right out of the box, it started right up and continues to start the first pull while waiting to use. I did test it on the whole house and all important appliances ran without a hitch! This particular generator is quieter than I thought it would be
